In 1998, we took the place of Dr. David Bowron, who retired from his family dental practice on Main Street, in Westbank. As new technology emerged, we began to dream about building a new dental office. We envisioned an office that would be pleasing to patients, staff and to the environment.

After several years of planning and research, we were able to build our dream dental office with the help of Rick Throssel, Wendy Beckholdt and Gary Doroshenko of Patterson Dental in Vancouver.

We have incorporated many unique features which have created a comfortable place for patients to visit and for staff to enjoy working.

1. All of our employees have specially-designed, ergonomic chairs to reduce the amount of stress on the body.

2. We have put in place an amalgam separator to remove the mercury from entering the water system when removing amalgam fillings.

3. Digital x-rays are now used which require a much lower amount of radiation and no longer require chemicals to develop the film.

4. Our sinks are foot operated so we do not contaminate our hands by touching the taps

5. Charts and radiographs are computerized to reduce the amount of paper used.

6. We are now wheelchair accessible

7. Natural light flows into the office from windows on three sides and skylights. This is healthy for staff and patients, and also colour matching is more accurate when choosing the shades for cosmetic dental work.

These are some of the improvements that we are proud of.
