Dr. Kris Kalhs, DDS (Dentist)

Dr. Kris Kalhs was born in Drumheller, Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta where he graduated with a DDS degree in 1977. After graduation from dentistry, Dr. Kalhs spent a year in Edmonton at the U of A hospital internship program where his primary focus was on surgery. Dr. Kalhs practiced general dentistry in Medicine Hat, Alberta for ten years and now for the past 22 years has owned KARO Dental Care, with a partner, in Spruce Grove, Alberta. Dr. Kalhs has been working part-time in our West Kelowna office since 2010. His skills benefit those patients in need of implants, wisdom teeth extractions or other surgical procedures.

Dr. Kalhs has placed implants for ten years and has practiced sedation for the past seven years. He feels most patients are concerned with the prospect of having dental surgery and wisdom teeth removal done and sedation offers a relief from that stress.

Dr. Kalhs and his lovely wife have 4 children; 2 girls and 2 boys and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. They have owned a home in the Okanagan for the last 5 years and are hoping to live in Kelowna full time in the near future as they enjoy the skiing in the winter and the lake in the summer.

In order to serve his patients, Dr. Kalhs maintains an active membership with a number of dental professional continuing education organizations such as: International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, involving his staff as well.
